The First 30 Days
The First 30 Days is a thesis project examining the immigration experience through personal and research-based perspectives, exploring the impact of U.S. immigration policies within an immigrant’s first month through three segments: physical health, mental health, and social acculturation. This project is presented within a three-part talk show series, each episode showcases a segment of research along with a literature review, interviews with experts, and a case-study analysis. The First 30 Days aims to challenge the traditional perspective on immigration policy, focusing on the human experiences that shape the immigrant journey. This objective is achieved by funneling the research through a case study based on my mother’s immigration journey, providing this much-needed human-centered perspective on immigration.
